Project has four main aims: (i) a detailed survey of biodiversity (waterfowl, amphibians, fish, zooplankton, benthos) and habitat quality of new small water reservoirs and pools built with the funds of OPŽP (SWR); (ii) an evaluation of biodiversity and habitat quality of SWR compared to other wetland habitats in the agricultural landscape of south Moravia (ponds and naturally forming permanent and ephemeral wetlands), (iii) creation of a map of areas unsuitable for building SWR, and (iv) creation of a management methodology for long-term sustainability of functions and biodiversity of SWR with respect to degradation due to eutrophication, overgrowth and introduction of undesirable fish species, stemming from the results of management experiments and analysis of obtained biodiversity data.
